Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Thinking Inc. ("we", "us") sets out below how user information is handled in the iOS app "Mimarimo" ("the App").
1. Information We Collect and Why
The App collects only the minimum information needed to connect a parent's and a child's devices and let the parent remotely lock and unlock apps on the child's device.
| Information |
What it is |
Why we use it |
| Anonymous authentication ID |
An identifier issued by Firebase Anonymous Authentication. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any account |
To identify the parent's and child's devices and establish pairing |
| Device name |
The name set on the device (on iOS 16 and later this is usually just the model name, such as "iPhone" or "iPad") |
So the parent can tell connected devices apart |
| Push notification token |
An identifier used as the delivery address for push notifications (FCM token) |
To deliver the parent's actions (lock / unlock) to the child's device |
| Pairing information |
The role within the family group (parent / child), last-seen time, lock state, and a single-use pairing code (expires 1 hour after issue) |
To provide the remote-control feature |
We do not collect anything else — no names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, advertising identifiers, or web browsing history. The App does not include any analytics tools, and we do not collect data for usage analysis or advertising.
The start date of your free trial is stored only on your device (in the Keychain) and is never sent anywhere.
2. Where Data Is Sent (Third-Party Processing)
The App uses the following providers' services to deliver its features.
- Firebase (Google LLC): used for authentication, the database, push notification delivery, and server processing. The information above is processed and stored on Google's servers, and Google's privacy policy applies
- Apple (App Store): used for in-app purchase (one-time purchase) payments. Payment information is processed by Apple; we never receive or store it
We do not provide or sell the collected information to third parties beyond what is needed to deliver the features above.
3. Data Retention and Deletion
- Pairing information is stored on Firebase. When the parent taps "Disconnect", the family group's data is deleted
- Pairing codes are deleted 1 hour after issue, or as soon as they are used on the child's device (single-use)
- To prevent fraudulent trial resets, the free-trial start date may remain on your device (in the Keychain) even after the App is deleted
- If you would like your data deleted, please contact us via the form at the end of this policy
4. Children's Data
The App is a tool for parents and guardians to manage their child's device.
- From the child's device we collect only what the feature needs: the device name, push notification token, and lock state
- We do not collect personal information such as the child's name, nor any app usage or activity history
- The App is operated in compliance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, which is our primary jurisdiction
- For availability in other regions, we will separately assess compliance with local children's privacy laws such as COPPA (US) and GDPR (EU)
- Setup and pairing of the child's device are expected to be performed by a parent or guardian
5. Consent and Your Choices
- By starting to use the App (making a purchase or starting the free trial), you are deemed to have agreed to this policy
- Push notifications can be turned off at any time in the device's OS settings (note that this limits functionality — for example, lock / unlock commands will no longer reach the child's device)
- Family Controls (Screen Time) authorization can be changed or revoked at any time in the iOS Settings app
6. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will notify you by updating this page. The revised policy takes effect when posted on this page.
